The Right Choice

Choosing the right tyre for the job

Arnold’s Advanced Tyre Centre endeavours to provide every driver we meet with the right advice and tyres for their needs. We do this by considering your car’s make, model and of course a number universal factors such as:

Safety

The most basic standard for any tyre is the level of safety it provides you with on dry and wet road surfaces. A good tyre keeps you glued to the road at all times, regardless of speed or road condition. While a bad tyre will fail the moment you pick up speed or tackle any road condition that involves decreased friction.

Naturally, the more you spend the greater peace of mind your tyres can provide. But this does not mean that even the cheapest tyres will not help you – it just means that you need to be more wary when driving in the wet or at higher speeds. Nevertheless, we will do our best to match your budget with a tyre that provides you with definite control and safety on the road.

Performance

Performance is more of a consideration for those wishing to maximise speed, traction and fuel efficiency when on the road. The right tyre can have considerable impact on your car’s capacity to tap into it’s full potential at higher speeds – you will see and feel it the moment you foot presses down on the pedal. The wrong tyre will strain when pressed to perform, potentially blowing out or losing all tread.

Once again, what you are willing and able to pay makes all the difference when it comes to the performance of your tyres. The best tyres in this context are never going to be in the budget category at any tyre store, including ours. But, or course, we will do what we can to ensure that you get the most bang for your buck if performance matters to you.

Durability

This is the one factor that can definitely change when influenced by both price and purpose. The most durable tyres on the market, in most categories, will be able to withstand heavy use for upwards of 40,000km or more. At the other end of the spectrum, your average tyre life would be closer to 20,000km – such tyres are almost exclusively passenger/inner-city driving oriented.

Naturally tyres designed for commercial, 4WD and heavy vehicle use will have a higher degree of durability due to their specialised use, but as with all things tyre related this can still be impacted by price. But never fear, no matter what the purpose or the price, we will do everything we can to give you a long lasting solution to your tyre needs.
